In order to increase learning outcomes, it is important to develop resources that are adapted to the needs of the students and that reflect the context in which they can apply new knowledge and skills by creating meaningful relationships between new concepts and their practical application in a real world situation. Recent developments in open educational resources (OERs) supported by rapid advances in information and communication technologies (ICTs) allow lecturers to easily access learning resources from a large array of sources and adapt them to their teaching needs.
The overall goal of this training workshop is to enable lecturers to develop high quality contextualized educational resources for teaching agriculture, agroforestry and natural resources management in higher education, based on related research and development experiences in Africa.
During this workshop, lecturers will learn to develop high quality learning resources by building on and improving their own instructional materials and enhancing them with materials from other relevant sources.
