Registry - broken targets

Reported by: jkofmsk Owned by: jlsantoso

Description

We need a background process, checking up on targets in the registry that do not work anymore. Maybe we can do this together with the broken links detector for learning resources. Eg.  http://ariadne.cs.kuleuven.ac.be/AWS/services/TargetService is listed in the registry as the ARIADNE target. This is an old target that hasn't been online for quite some time..

Identifier: ARIADNERepository Description: The full collection of The Ariadne Foundation Target 0: Entry: target-sqi-ARIADNERepository Catalog : ariadne_targets Location :  http://ariadne.cs.kuleuven.ac.be/AWS/services/TargetService Protocol Name : sqi Protocol Description Binding Name Space :  http://www.imsglobal.org/services/lode/imslosqi_v1p0 Protocol Description Binding Location :  http://fire.eun.org/xsd/registry/imslosqi_v1p0.xsd

Yes, I was thinking to do that in the same way that we do with OAI-PMH targets, using RSS feeds and cruisse control.

I am waiting for the FedSearch? Layer, to reuse some code from it.

But maybe it has sense to join everything together and to do an extra service. Anyway, I think that it's interesting to have this RSS feeds with time response.
